Tokyo, Japan. January 31, 2020. An elderly gentleman carries some personal belongings on a cart and looks at the area under the bridge that connects Tokyo to Yokohama. Many homeless people live under this bridge. During the fall of 2019, a typhoon ravaged the banks of the Tamagawa River, destroying in the process many makeshift shelters where several hundred elderly people had taken refuge.

On August 30th, during the 33rd edition of the International Festival of Photojournalism, Visa pour l'image, in Perpignan, France, I had the pleasure to discover my reportage "L'ombre du Japon" during an evening screening at the Campo Santo. This in front of several thousands of people including a majority of professionals in the business since these evening screenings take place during the professional week of the Festival.
